MERICAT™ C FIBER FILM® CONTACTOR TECHNOLOGY SELECTED FOR CONDENSATE PROJECT IN ALBERTA, CANADA

FIBER-FILM-CONTACTOR

Merichem Company has been selected as the technology licensor to treat a condensate stream for a major oil refiner in order to meet final product specifications at its plant in Alberta, Canada. The refiner’s current onshore production of condensates is approximately 11,800 bbls/day with total sales exceeding 18,000 bbls/day, comprised of conventional condensates, fractionated condensates and approximately 5,392 bbls/day of condensates produced from the gas plant. Merichem Company’s MERICAT™ C technology, a technology based on Merichem’s state of the art non-dispersive FIBER FILM® Contactor technology, employs the FIBER FILM Contactor as the mass transfer device and utilizes a caustic/catalyst/air mixture as the treating reagent to remove hydrogen sulfide and sweeten mercaptan compounds in condensate streams. The non-dispersive FIBER FILM Contactor achieves reduced capital expenditure and less plant space requirements compared to treating alternatives, making MERICAT C the technology-of-choice. Merichem Company provides a diversified portfolio of products and services to a wide range of operations, including the refining and petrochemicals industries. With more than 1,000 licensed process units worldwide, Merichem is the leader in licensing patented process technologies and supplying proprietary equipment to provide hydrocarbon treating solutions and by-product management services that remove sulfur and other impurities from hydrocarbon liquids and gases in the upstream and downstream energy sectors.
